a few things have changed for me since i first thought about the teapot problem - the ones that are concerning the teapot problem are the discovery of two entirely formal solutions, one of which is shown in the last of these pictures, the other is older and it seems it has been forgotten a couple of times since it has been found, i suppose somewhere at the end of the 19th century or in the beginning of the 20th ( it's a hole of a diameter of 2-3mm in the bottom part of the end of the spout – a drop that runs around and then down the spout is aspirated by capillarity into this hole and won't continue its way down the base of the teapot)
